New : Cardboard – Californian Demos (Garage Fuzz)

—— French version (english bellow)

Cardboard.
Vermont, here we are.
—— English version
This article deserves its little story. While I was debating about Total Slacker and Jonathan Richman with Jonathan (Cardboard leader), we finally reached the conclusion that I needed to post this article as soon as possible. Here I am, with a bunch of amazing demos recorded in California that you guys gonna LOVE.
Different Drum” is a Linda Ronstadt cover, and it’s a true slaughter. I’m already wondering were I’m gonna put this song in all 2013 rankings. “Four Eyes” is an original compo (like every songs following), truly different from his first EP (link), calmer but as powerful and rousing that those we already knew. Psych Garage, here’s a track to spend a blazing summer. Plus, the final is a great answer to the introduction. “Apples” is more punk-ish, the kind of track that dynamite an LP. Please prepare the tractor, Jonathan is coming with strength on a red mechanic. Then arrives “I Dissappointed Everybody Today“, the first title to introduce some folk while preserving lo-fi on the voice. The result, once again, is very convincing. Vermont, here we are. Finally, Jonathan delivers a gentle “Suddendeath” that we love a lot, like a hard awakening.
Those demos have nothing to envy to Wavves and Audacity power. We found the ironical touch that we love, also something very poetical like White Fence can produce. The first Cardboard LP should be out before the end of the year. What a long waiting.
